Our programme shows the centuries-old traditions of the Budapest Jewish community which had been one of the largest in Europe. We will take you to the memorials and religous places located in the former ghetto area established in 1944. You can admire the excuisite Budapest Synagogue, the second largest in the world (designed by Ludwig Förster and inaugurated in 1859). Then you will visit the Jewish Museum, the Jewish cemetery, the “Tree of Life” and the Heroes’ Monument. You will walk around the former Jewish ghetto area and see an old orthodox synagogue from the outside. The programme ends at a kosher restaurant where you can take the opportunity to taste the specialities of the Jewish kitchen (available upon request).
